We suggest to plan a 4 days trip to Amsterdam to enjoy Rijksmuseum
The Rijksmuseum (or National Museum) is a Dutch national museum. In addition to hosting the largest collection of the 17th-century Dutch paintings (Vermeer, Rembrandt, Van Ruysdael, Frans Hals etc.), the museum collects art objects of all kinds, from the Middle Ages to the Renaissance, to the East. It is the most famous of the local museums.
In its 80 galleries, the museum exhibts more than 8000 works including paintings, prints, sculptures and several types of artifacts. Visiting the entire museum takes about 2-3 hours on average. Don’t miss the Rijksmuseum’s gardens. They include a stunning fountain and a range of sculptures.
As for the Van Gogh Museum, all visitors are required to book tickets online by selecting a time slot. It is advisable to arrive on time otherwise it will not be possible to visit the museum after the booked entrance time. This is due to the limited number of visitors admitted to the museum per day (maximum 200). We therefore suggest that you book well in advance to avoid being sold out. Arrive before 11 am or after 3 pm to skip the line. From April to August, queues for tickets take up to 30 minutes, so it is recommended to book ahead to avoid the queues.
