Cherry blossom

The national flower of Japan, the cherry bloossom – or Sakura represents a time of renewal and optimism. Due to their quick blooming season, cherry blossom also symbolize the fleeting nature of life, a major theme in Buddhism. Flowering occurs in different periods depending on the latitude but tends to be concentrated towards April. In this period millions of tourists flock to the parks and moors of the countryside to admire the breathtaking beauty of nature. There are daytime parties such as classic picnics and night parties where the cherry trees are adorned with the characteristic paper lanterns, This is a very heartfelt event and you need to equip yourself well to avoid suffering the cold and humidity typical of much of Japan in spring.

Japanese volcanoes

The morphological and geological characteristics make Japan one of the most active volcanic places on Earth. In total there are about 200 volcanoes in the nation, of which about 50 or more are still active, such as the famous Mount Fuji or Sakurajima, which has always been in constant activity.

Why Japan is called “Land of Rising Sun”?

The country is named “Land of Rising Sun” simply because the sun rises first in Japan and then in any other part of the world.
