Buckingham Palace (originally Buckingham House) is the residence and administrative headquarters of the monarch of the United Kingdom. The palace has 775 rooms and hosts the largest private garden in London. The various rooms have different functions: 19 rooms are representive rooms, 52 are royal and guest rooms, 188 rooms are for the staff , 92 are offices and 78 are bathrooms. There are 760 windows and 1514 doors. The facade of the royal palace is 108 meters long on the front and the building has a depth of 120 meters (including the central quadrilateral ) for a height of 24 meters.
Beware of restrictions: access to Buckingham Palace requires compliance with certain safety rules such as, for example, not entering the halls of the attraction with a stroller. It can be registered at the entrance to be collected at the exit at the end of the tour. It is also forbidden to shoot videos and photographs for commercial purposes inside the State Rooms. During high season, and for safety reasons, you may wait longer than usual at the entrance due to the strict security checks: arm yourself with patience.

Buckingham Palace was originally a grand house and was called Buckingham House. In 1761 George III decided to purchase Buckingham House for his wife , Queen Charlotte, and their 15 children. 14 of Georrge and Charlotte’s children were born at the house.
The changing of the guard is an unmissable event at 11.30 every day from May to July or from September to March on alternate days, weather permitting. There is not only the well-known Changing of the Guard to see: when the Royal Palace opens its gates to the public, it offers a view – albeit not total – of the important rooms occupied by the Queen and her most trusted collaborators.
